A framework that guides all its public policies and decisions and an acknowledgement that measuring GDP or socioeconomic development is just an aspect to an overall development of a country and that other aspects such as environmental conservation, cultural preservation and good governance are equally important.

Bhutan’s commitment to this philosophy has accomplished a major milestone in becoming the only country to be carbon negative. It’s massive forest cover with majority of it recognized as protected wildlife sanctuaries has blessed Bhutan with a rich biodiversity and locals have learned to live in harmony with it.
