Environmental conservation has always been a top national priority for Bhutan since the inception of the Gross National Happiness index. A framework that guides all its public policies and decisions and an acknowledgement that measuring GDP or socioeconomic development is just an aspect to an overall development of a country and that other aspects such as environmental conservation, cultural preservation and good governance are equally important.

Bhutan’s commitment to this philosophy has accomplished a major milestone in becoming the only country to be carbon negative. It’s massive forest cover with majority of it recognized as protected wildlife sanctuaries has blessed Bhutan with a rich biodiversity and locals have learned to live in harmony with it.

Bhutan is a photographer`s paradise. The country`s stunning landscape and natural beauty are a joy to behold, captured in all its purest glory in the celluloid. Whether it is a majestic snow laden mountain, or a sparkling waterfall gushing down a steep ravine, or a sunset cast against an incandescent horizon, Bhutan is nature at it` s best – pristine, wonderful, and a rarity in the world.
